Name: Mist on the Moor
Pattern: Cable/Lace Cardigan by Renee Lorion for Vogue Knitting Magazine
Made for: Me
Yarn: JC Rennie Unique Shetland; 1 cone = 900g; colour = Laurel
I’ve only swatched for this so far. I’m going to use the 4-ply Shetland yarn held double which gives me a slightly different gauge to the one stated in the pattern. I found this needle size produced the best stitch definition, but it does leave me a bit of a quandary about which size to knit.

Getting along well with this knit – I should have the back finished tomorrow. I have changed the stitch pattern a little from how I swatched it (K1, sl1, psso on the right side instead of K2 tog and p2 tog on the wrong side instead of spp) as I just like the look of this in combination with the cables. I hope to have some pictures to post tomorrow of this and Turin, if our dreadful Bank Holiday weather moves away.

First front was finished over the weekend. I am working on this in tandem with a plain sweater also in doubled J C Rennie 4-ply so neither is going quite as fast as it could. However, I do sometimes need an evening of stocking stitch rather than all the cabling.

On what for me is the worst bit of the cardigan now – the front band & collar piece. 300+ stitches on a long bendy circular needle. Every time I pick up a circular needle I am reminded how much I hate using them! Only a few more of these mega-rows to go, then back to the cable and lace stitch and sensible proportions of the sleeves.

Love, love, love this cardigan. Love the pattern, love the yarn, love the button, love the fit. Love it.
